HOW TO PLAY GOLAZO
Six questions a round. Stars for every correct answer. Twenty stars rips a pack. Thirty six cards to collect.
GOLAZO is a free football quiz where correct answers earn stars, stars buy card packs, and cards fill an album of 36. It runs in a browser with nothing to install and no account needed to start. Here are the complete rules.
A round is six questions
- ▸Each round is six multiple choice questions with four options.
- ▸You get twelve seconds per question. Running out counts as a miss.
- ▸Every correct answer earns stars. Wrong answers cost nothing except the star you did not earn.
- ▸Three correct answers in a row adds a streak bonus.
- ▸A question about a card already in your album pays double stars.
Packs cost 20 stars
A pack contains three cards. You start with enough stars to open one as soon as your first round ends. Cards are common, rare or legendary, which describes how often they appear rather than how good they are.
Duplicate cards convert into shards: one for a common, three for a rare, eight for a legendary. In the album you can spend shards to buy a specific card you are missing, so a run of duplicates still moves you forward.
The album is 36 cards over four pages
Club Icons, The Legends, Trophy Room and Football Nations, nine cards each. Completing a page unlocks a Legend Story, a short run of facts drawn from that page's own questions.
Five rounds a day
You get five rounds every day, and they refill at midnight in your own timezone. Only your first five rounds count toward the daily star table, so everyone is ranked over the same number of games rather than by who had the most free time.
Head to head duels
A duel sends someone the exact same six questions, in the same order, with options in the same positions. The challenge link is sent before you play, so both players go in blind. More correct answers wins. If the score is level, the faster total time wins. Level on both is a dead heat and nobody takes the L. The winner takes five stars, and repeat opponents build a running rivalry record.
The daily star table
Because a star is a correct answer, the daily table is a knowledge ranking rather than a participation one. It resets at midnight along with your rounds. Set a player name and your position shows up under it.
Saving your album
Your progress lives on your device by default. Add an email and it is saved to the cloud instead, so it survives clearing your browser or switching phone. Restoring on a new device sends a six digit code to that email first. We do not use passwords anywhere.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Is GOLAZO free to play?
Yes. GOLAZO is free, with no purchases. Stars are earned by answering questions correctly and cannot be bought.
Do I need an account to play?
No. Your first round needs nothing at all. To keep playing beyond it you add a player name and an email, which is what saves your album so it survives clearing your browser or changing phone. There is no password.
How many rounds can I play per day?
Five rounds a day, refilling at midnight in your own timezone. Sending a head to head challenge earns one extra round, up to three times a day.
How many cards are in the GOLAZO album?
Thirty six, split into four pages of nine: Club Icons, The Legends, Trophy Room and Football Nations.
How much does a card pack cost?
Twenty stars, and each pack contains three cards. A star is one correct answer, and questions about cards you already own pay double.
What happens if I get a duplicate card?

How is a 1v1 duel decided?
The player with more correct answers wins. If both players score the same, the faster total time wins. If both score and time are level it is a dead heat, with no winner and no stars awarded.

Yes. It runs in any modern mobile or desktop browser, and can be added to your home screen so it opens like an app.
